Rasmussen University Gives Back During 13th Annual Community Service Day
More than 1,000 Rasmussen employees encouraged to volunteer within their own local communities
Minneapolis (June 10, 2021)—Rasmussen University, a regionally accredited private university, will give back to its local communities during its 13th annual Community Service Day on Fri., June 11. Around 1,000 employees from the University’s 23 campus locations, two central offices and one regional office are encouraged to volunteer within their local communities during this annual one-day event.
Due to continued uncertainty surrounding COVID-19 and the need to prioritize personal safety, Rasmussen University employees will not gather and volunteer as campus or office communities, as they have in years past. Similar to last summer, individual employees will volunteer their time and resources to support causes and organizations where they feel most inspired and comfortable.
“As we continue to celebrate our 120th year as an institution of higher learning, I could not be more proud of this annual tradition—a day that allows our Rasmussen community to give back to the communities that have been so good to us,” said Dr. Ann Leja, interim president, Rasmussen University. “We also know the past year has been extremely difficult on many within our local communities, which is why we are asking and empowering our employees to be difference makers and meet the specific needs of their local organizations, neighborhoods and other community initiatives. We hope and believe their volunteer hours will not only positively impact their communities but also be a transformative experience for our employees.”
Employees will participate in a variety of volunteer activities ranging from picking up trash in their local neighborhoods and beaches, to helping stock local food shelters and supporting local community education initiatives.
During this year’s Community Service Day, Rasmussen University employees willshare their volunteer experienceon social media using the hashtag #RasCommunity. You can also see where employees are giving back on the University’sFacebookandInstagramaccounts.
