Rasmussen University Opens New, Upgraded Campus in Tampa Bay Area
University's New Port Richey/West Pasco and Land O' Lakes/East Pasco campuses merge operations and relocate to central Pasco County
Tampa, Fla. (February 25, 2021)—Rasmussen University, a regionally accredited private university, today announced the merger of its New Port Richey/West Pasco and Land O’ Lakes/East Pasco campuses and their relocation to a brand new, upgraded campus in central Pasco County, Florida. Classes are now underway at the newRasmussen University Central Pasco campus, which is located at 16418 State Road 54, Odessa, Florida 33556. This campus evolution enables the University to offer students greater access to learning opportunities and bring all of their dynamic programming together in one central location.
“Rasmussen University is committed to providing an enhanced learning experience for our students,” said Daniel Stern, campus director, Rasmussen University—Central Pasco. “Our new centralized Central Pasco campus allows us to provide new resources and possibilities and create a more innovative and accessible environment.”
The new single-story facility is located in the heart of the Suncoast Crossing shopping area. The newly renovated building is the largest campus footprint in Rasmussen University history. It features spacious classrooms, nursing simulation center and skills labs, an anatomy and physiology lab, medical assisting lab, surgical technologist lab and radiology technician lab. Faculty and students will enjoy expanded offices, lounges and study spaces, including outdoor common areas.
“To continue to evolve as a pioneer in the field of career-focused education, we upgraded our health sciences and nursing learning environments with new labs, simulation equipment and technology,” said Stern. “These expanded resources will enhance the faculty teaching and student learning experience in the development of healthcare and critical-thinking skills, which are essential requirements for today’s healthcare employers. We are also excited that our non-health sciences and nursing students will have access to the new classrooms, computers and expanded student lounge and study spaces when it is safe to do so.”
Rasmussen University Familiar with New Location
The site of the new Central Pasco campus is familiar to Florida’s Rasmussen University staff, faculty and alumni. It is about two miles west of the former Land O’ Lakes/East Pasco campus and about 13 miles from the former New Port Richey/West Pasco location. This new home is in one of the fastest growing communities in Pasco County. Suncoast Parkway will provide easy access for students coming from all parts of the county and the area’s tremendous growth in recent years will provide the Rasmussen University community with access to business, retail and residential development.
“We’re continually exploring the best opportunities to create ideal learning and working environments for the Rasmussen community,” said Stern. “We believe a centralized Pasco County campus is a great opportunity to deliver the best student experience and elevate community relationships in a rising area. We are looking forward to strengthening our relationships with our existing community partners and growing new clinical and employer relationships in Pasco County.”
